Her death record indicates her middle name as Lesavet. Elizabeth was noted on her husband Tom French's military record. It is assumed to be correct.

During World War II, he was struck by scrapnel that removed part of his face. He was originally in a hospital in Marseille and later was transferred to a special hospital in Paris until he died in 1949. He was shown in this pictoral article in the French magazine, Le Monde Illustre. The article featured the hospital in Paris and the work being done there to help reconstruct the faces of individuals who were injured during the War.

1930 Census records show her sister Anna (Arroqui) Iriart as being from Spain. Based on their mother's name of Sigoyenetche (Cihigoyenetche) and my knowledge of this family being from that region, I have assumed her be born in Valcarlos. Further research necessary.

She was 27 years old when she died and her husband's first initial was "G".

His parents names were found on his marriage record in 1863 in Uruguay. Unable to find these individuals in France or Spain indexes. Family lore passed down a history that indicated Ignace was born to an unwed mother from Urrugne, France but his father was married to another woman. It is possible that the parents noted are really his parent who may or may never have married. The marriage record indicated that he was a "legitimate son" but that may be questionable. Further research necessary.
